Dear Middle Templar,
Happy New Year.
I hope you have all had a good break.
The year ahead promises to be interesting, stimulating and fun.
May I draw your attention to the Inn’s very full programme of events for 2025. There are lectures on a wide range of topics, there are dinners, wine tastings, music nights, Private Guest Nights and other events as well as an amity visit to Dublin at the end of this month. The Four Jurisdictions Conference takes place in May this year, also in Dublin, and there is an amity visit to The Hague in September. I hope it will be an interesting and enjoyable year for us all. As always, the Inn will continue to provide education of the highest quality to our students. That the education programme is second to none is thanks to the work of the Education Department, and the many members and Benchers of the Inn who contribute so generously to this work. Renewed thanks to all involved.
The Treasury Office returned to work, 6 January. The Garden Room has also opened and Hall will re-open with a Burns Night dinner and reeling on Saturday 25 January. Lunch in Hall will restart on Tuesday 28 January. I look forward to seeing you all over the coming months.
With all good wishes for 2025
Kate Thirlwall
Treasurer 2025

Join us at Bedales, Leadenhall Market, for our annual wine tasting evening.
The "Bedales Wine Discoveries" tasting is focussed on lesser-known regions, grapes, and appellations. The wines selected for this experience may not have the commercial strength of the big names but are second to none for taste, authenticity, and pleasure. In the full Bedales spirit: this is the opportunity to find the undiscovered! The wines will be accompanied by platters of meats, cheeses and breads from the market.
Those of you who have attended before know what a great evening this is! Numbers are strictly limited; early booking is advised.
Wednesday 23rd April, 6pm - 8pm | Bedales, Leadenhall Market, London, EC3V 1LT
Cost is £65 for BACFI members and their guests and £75 for others.
